SMP has already claimed one Metro title, the 7 YO American, and has a chance at adding two more tonight.

The 7 YO National team plays Mountain Brook in that league’s championship game tonight at Hoover East at 6 o’clock.  SMP defeated Vestavia in a hard-fought 8 inning game Monday to advance to the championship from the winner’s bracket of the tournament.

The 9 YO National team also plays Mountain Brook in its league’s championship game also at Hoover East. This game starts at 7 o’clock. This is a winner-take-all game of that league’s tournament.

The 9 YO American Black team plays tonight in its tournament at Vestavia’s Wald Park at 6:30 and will advance to the tournament finals with a win. The opponent will Oak Mountain.

Remember, we appreciate those who are keeping us informed and want to post news about ALL our teams so please send updates to us at info@shadesmountainpark.org.

Respond

The 9YO Shades Mountain Black All Star team has taken on a project “KNOCK CANCER OUT OF THE BALL PARK.” The team is collecting sunscreen and chapstick for the pediatric cancer patient’s
at Children’s Hospital.  They started about four weeks ago or maybe longer and
have had good success thus far.

The Bucs are having a fundraiser tonight at Beef O Brady’s in Hoover at the new Target Center on 150 and I459. If you can come out and support the boy’s fundraiser, feel free. The restaurant is donating 15% of the total receipts collected between 5 – 8pm tonight. The money will go to buy sunscreen and chapstick.  The team’s goal is to fill up a pick up truck full of sunscreen and chapstick.
