Here are some notes from last night’s SMP Board meeting:
- Voting for SMP Board positions will be this Saturday, May 8th, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Cuppett Field (Field #2). See Kim Fort to vote.
- Wednesday, May 5th is the deadline to register for all stars. The form is online this year on the Quickscores site here (under “Registration/Surveys”).
- Scholarships were awarded to eight high school seniors last night. Look for more information on this soon after we contact the winners.
- Be on the lookout for league and park “Home Run Derby” information soon. This is a new event and we hope it will be a lot of fun and add excitement to our league tournaments.
- Sites for the Metro tournaments have been announced and are posted here.
- Discounted tickets to the SEC Baseball tournament are available to all SMP players. Look for information from your team mom about that in coming days.
- End of season tournaments are here and some will begin as early as this weekend. The final EOS tournament will be the 13/14 YO league on May 23rd.
- National teams will wear black and white jerseys this year; American teams will wear orange and white.
- The park is taking steps to add vending machines for times when the concession stand is not open.
- We hope everyone has noticed the new and improved memorial at the front of the park.
