Shades Mountain Community Park (SMP) presented scholarships to six recent Hoover High graduates prior to its monthly Board meeting Monday.

Fall Baseball will registration will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 16 from 1-4 p.m.

While most folks are celebrating Independence Day this week, SMP is also celebrating New Year’s because today, July 1, is the first day of the park’s baseball year. A new Board of Directors officially takes office today.
